Interactive Application Using UnrealScript
Musil, Miloš ; Pečiva, Jan (referee) ; Navrátil, Jan (advisor)
This work is focused on the creating of projects in Unreal Developement Kit, mainly on their programming in language UnrealScript. There are shortly discused tools, integrated into UDK for creating scenes and operating their inner logic, same as some more significant classes of UnrealScript for work with game camera, HUD, elaborating user inputs and others. In the end, there is joined comparasion between UnrealScript and some other languages, usable for creation of user interfaces and evaluation of user tests, executed on final project in UDK.
RPG Game in Unity with Procedural Elements
Líška, Samuel ; Vlnas, Michal (referee) ; Milet, Tomáš (advisor)
The main objective of this thesis is to create 2D top-down RPG game with a focus on procedural generation in Unity. This thesis contains a summary of information about videogames, procedural content generation, game engines, and Unity itself. This thesis also contains solution design and implementation of the game. Perlin noise and its processing into the biome with the usage of Whittaker diagram has been used. Multiple systems to enhance gameplay are described as well. Lastly, this thesis contains testing and evaluation with a small survey.
Visualization Project Based on Unreal Development Kit
Bury, Jiří ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Pečiva, Jan (advisor)
This work focuses on game development in the Unreal Development Kit (UDK). There are discussed technologies powering the Unreal Engine 3 and tools that includes UDK. The thesis also deals with solution of a fully dynamic day cycle, advanced materials processing and generally scene creation for the game and cinematic industry. Related to skinning, rigging, texturing, importing into UDK, assigning materials and linking with the UnrealScript code, the modeling procedure of objects is explained in detail (in this case on a car).
Collision Detection Library
Chlubna, Tomáš ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the problem of detecting collisions of nontrivial polygonal models in three-dimensional space. In general, there are methods describing how to mathematically express and calculate such collisions. However, such methods are usually unsuitable for usage in information technology due to the performance and memory requirements. It is also necessary to work with the discrete time that is not present in the real world. That brings the need to implement algorithms that are not only able to detect the collisions in a specific point in time, but also to predict them according to the available data about the movement of the objects in the scene. The solution uses game development and physics simulations techniques. Therefore, this works describes some optimization techniques as well as suitable scene representation formats and GPU rendering mechanisms.
Design and Implementation of a Game for Nintendo Game Boy
Krejčíř, Štěpán ; Polášek, Tomáš (referee) ; Čadík, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis briefly introduces the reader to the context surrounding the launch of the handheld console Nintendo Game Boy. It focuses on the development process for this console, lists the console's quirks that are essential to know in order to write effective code, and suggests solutions to some common problems. The practical part describes the design and implementation of a rhythm game for Game Boy using C language and GBDK-2020 toolkit.
Multiplayer Game for a Mobile Device
Čechák, Daniel ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Bambušek, Daniel (advisor)
The aim of this work is to design and develop a simple and yet fun game for mobile devices, which can entertain players and make their moments of rest more pleasant. The game is developed in Unity. It is a board game for 2-4 players and contains four minigames. Players move around the board using dice rolls and are affected by bonuses gained in minigames based on their skill. The thesis describes the process of designing this game as well as its implementation. Last but not least, the work includes several methods of testing for this game. The game has been published and is freely available on Google Play under the name MiniBoard Champ.
Lili game application
Hrbáčová, Veronika ; Debnárová, Veronika (referee) ; Vaněk, Vojtěch (advisor)
Main focus of this diploma thesis is the development of educational game app for people with severe mental disabilities, designed for the iOS platform, primarily for iPad. The Lili application is an application designed for people with moderate to severe mental disabilities. Its purpose is to provide user with a set of fun rehabilitational or educational activities on a suitable platform. The goal is to not only make these activities engaging but also giving the user as much independence as possible. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the motivation behind creation of this app and its possible contribution to special education and personal use. It also describes the process by which the app was created - from consultations with special educators, through testing to the creation of a graphical user interface. It also discusses the choice of platform and tools. Thanks to consultations in the game media studio, the original prototype changed its user interface and also expanded to include more games, specifically painting, sound recognition, coloring book and color recognition. Thanks to consultations in the studio, the application has been completed and is ready for release in the App Store.
Flight Game for Android
Šabata, David ; Kajan, Rudolf (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This work deals with flight game development on Android platform. Firstly the possibilities of native development and development using Libgdx library will be discussed. Then flight mechanics of a real aircraft and simplified mechanics used in flight games will be explained. The work will also summarize current trends in mobile flight game controls and will propose a new control method based on touch input. Using this method a flight game will be designed and implemented. In the end of this work the process of testing and publishing will discussed, as well as possibilities of further development.
Space Game Project Using Delta3D Simulation Engine
Sauer, Václav ; Milet, Tomáš (referee) ; Pečiva, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is about gaming and simulation open-source engine Delta3D and its possibilities in game design and development. Work describes basics and ideology of this engine and how engine handles drawing, physics, audio processing and other things widely used in current games. Furthermore this work describes tools offered by engine, which may be used in the process of creating games. This information is then used to implement simple game created with this engine. Process of design and implementation is described in the main part of this thesis.
Mobile Application "Paramedic doggy" - Brain Stroke
Rosinská, Monika ; Bambušek, Daniel (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of the thesis was to create educational application for kids in age 7-10 years on the topic first aid for brain stroke. Application was developed for operating system Android by using Unity game engine. The game was developed while taking into account psychology, emotions and educating children, and it's using gamification. Children who played the game are able to recognize the symptoms of brain stroke and know what to do in similar situations. Benefits of this application are that children can give first aid and call ambulance if needed. They can also recognize the symptoms of brain stroke.
